you know you have to ech it with acid before you can paint it you know i would look into staining it, it looks a lot nicer and it comes in very intresting colors and its about the same amount of work but you get a better look as long as the floor is in good condition but that applies to painting it too i would do some more research before making your decission. um the answer to your question is epoxy paint on the floor but you have to ech it with meratic acid before you paint. good luckI want to paint my basement floor is there a certain paint to use for floors?
Yes, See the Home Depot Article for the various options available.I want to paint my basement floor is there a certain paint to use for floors?
yes, concrete floor paint. Use the light grit kind also, so if there's a little moisture you won't slip and get hurt on it.
Epoxy works best. You should look for something that you can add sand or some form of grit to for traction. Painted floors get very slippery very quickly.
I painted my basement floor and wished that I had stained it instead. Stained concrete is really in style now and looks so good. My daughter did her whole down stairs. I am thinking of scraping up the paint in my basement and putting a stain down.
There are a variety of paints that can be used for basement/concrete floors. Some of the newer ones are actually tints that you mix with a thin coat of concrete, and you get wonderful ';marbeling'; effects, etc. Go to your nearest Home Depot, or Lowe's , Eagles, Type store... The person working in the Paint Department will be able to help you. Also if they have a contractors desk... ask them about concrete floor finishes!
Have fun!! I love concrete floors, there is so much fun you can have :)
