Can I paint a ceramic tiled bathroom floor? what would i use?

would it be durable? i figure rugs would cover most of the high trafific area. I want them to be chocolate brown, high gloss. is this practical? Can I paint a ceramic tiled bathroom floor? what would i use?
There aren't many kinds of paint that stick to ceramic tile. Wood stains do and automotive paint. those are the only 2 that I know of but there may be moreCan I paint a ceramic tiled bathroom floor? what would i use?
Ceramic tiles are glazed. After they are baked in the kiln the layers of glaze set. If you were to paint it any paint durable enough would probably not be practical, and would not be permanent. It would also look uneven. I would recommend against it. Glazes and the whole process is time consuming and expensive, which is probably why tiles are so pricey. Would some stick, yes. Would they look good, doubtful.
Not a good idea to paint over ceramic tile. It will not hold up for long. Best thing to do is remove the tile and replace it with something else.
i hope its not practical, why dont you try high gloss floor tiles instead, the narrow areas can be eliminated in the design itself.

All The Best!
U R Nuts, you can tile over without removal or use whatever force required to remove old, then go forward. Wildest thing I have ever heard !
I don't think so. Paint is all about bonding to the surface it is sitting on. Ceramic glazes are essentially glass surfaces. You would have to use an oil-based paint for durability and water repellancy (is that a word??) since latex would soften with water contact...
