You should sand the patio floor first, this is important for adhering new paint. Then you can buy primer and paint that is made for just that purpose. You didnt say if it was wood or stone. If its wood they sell stains that are colored just for decks and if its stone or concrete they also sell stains %26amp; paint for that. If you use regular paint make sure its an exterior paint. I do alot of renovating on my own and I have learned thru trial %26amp; error. unless u know exactly which paint was used before, nothing will probably stick to it in the long run. Just stay with the antique or stressed look u have now.
