I am building a garage and don't know what to do with the floor? Tiles, paint or leave it the way it is?

If you are mechanically inclined and work on your own vehicles, coat the floor with a white or off-white epoxy-based garage floor coating. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes. It goes on like paint, keeps oil and dirt from seeping into your concrete, and does a great job of reflecting light underneath your vehicles. I worked in a garage that had a similar coating, and you didn't even need a drop-light underneath the car. Clean-up was a piece of cake too.

If you don't work on your own vehicles, and you drive well maintained cars that don't leak fluids, save the money and go with the bare concrete, just in case you ever want to convert the garage into a spare room.I am building a garage and don't know what to do with the floor? That all depends on what you're doing in the garage. If it's for cars, you could paint the concrete, storage, possibly tile. A small room? definately tile, just for look and comfort, nobody wants to walk into a room with concrete as a floor.I am building a garage and don't know what to do with the floor? Ask Sherwin Williams !
leave it, you can use cat litter to clean it just spread on the floor were somthing might stain the floor then grind it in with your heel, then just sweep it up, my grandpas been doing it for years.
you might just want to do it in concrete cuz on tiles dirt and mud and any other thing gets stuck in the grout. paint everything gets stuck to it if it gets really hot and the temp. is over 100 F
I would suggest paint. There are products out there that allows easy clean up of spills, and non-slipping at the same time.
Tiles are always helpful.
They have these rubbers tiles that you can use on garage floors that come in different colors. You can use these if you want to spruce your garage up with colors and patterns. You can purchase these at any home improvement store.
leave it, its a garage, it doesn't have to be pretty
Paint the floor, I have a friend who painted his floor and it looks like a Showroom!!! Sooo Cool!!!! ;)
depends on what you are planning to use the garage for. If you are going to work on cars then I sugust that you put down an epoxy sealant if it is for storage than just leave it raw concreat if it is for a play room then tiles.
They have wonderful garage floor coating at Home Depot and Lowes (and probably most harware/home improvement stores). It is relatively inexpensive and it goes on like paint, but it rejects most stains (like oil and grease).
i wouldnt do tile for a garage, it will more than likely end up broken.

id just leave it. if you plan on alot of use and want the looks, go with paint
Untreated concrete in a pain in the *** to clean, do some research try hgtv on line there a lots of low maintenance affordable floor treatments available.
just paint it
just leave it plain concrete and if you want a rough surface you can run a regular shop broom over it after you poured the cement during the during process.
If it has a concrete floor leave it the way it is, otherwise use some tiles. Paint the floor? That's not a good idea coz it will peal away in time.
Tiles? No way. They'll crack and leave you with a massive headache. Leave it plain or get a heavy duty garage floor paint from lowes/home depot.
leave it as is. this way if u need 2 clean it u can wash it down / water hose.also u can use bleach on it 2 keep it clean ,
They sell garage paint at home improvement stores and that is a good way to make a more attractive surface that will wear better and clean up easier. My best friend did this to his garage and it has held up very well for the past five years of use and working on his cars.
Dont put down tile: heavy equipment could crush it. Also, remember you may be spilling oil and stuff on it. There are special coatings for garage floors though. See the url below for an example.
If you're putting a car in their then you don't want tile, just paint it.
