Can I paint an already oiled wooden floor?

It is a natural engineered wood with veneered surface which comes pre-oiled and has been maintained with natural oils. Can I paint an already oiled wooden floor?
You'll need to strip it using a belt sander first, as otherwise the paint will just flake off - but beware, only strip the top off if it's good quality wood! If it's just a ';wooden plated'; type of floorboard then it may ruin it forever! It may also need undercoat, depending what kind of paint you want to finish it off with. Can I paint an already oiled wooden floor?
Best to strip it with a sander first. You can hire em easy enough, they look like bloody lawn-mowers!
You could use an oil based paint like eggshell.
Could work but you need to lightly sand the surface first.
``yes providing u use an oiled based paint``
I think you may have to slightly sand it down. Isn't there a DIY site on the web? Couldn't you Google it?????
i cant see why not
