How do you get aerosol paint off of a wood floor.?

an aerosol can of paint exploded on a wood floor and it is white paint. How do you get aerosol paint off of a wood floor.?
Lightly rub turpentine on it ,let stand a few min and wipe up with clean rag.How do you get aerosol paint off of a wood floor.?
Depends on the wood floor. If it is a regular tongue and groove boards. then acetone should do the trick. You will still probably have to refinish, but it will be minimal. If it is a prefinished floor, like pergo, then I am not sure. That could be touchy good luck!!
Acetone.....Sheesh! that would be drastic on an actual wood finished floor. It would take the finish of the wood as well as the over-spray (guessing it is over-spray). All you probably want to do is remove the paint ON the wood finish not take off the finish.

Try the turpentine solution first. Also.... those plastic kitchen scouring pads do a nice job and do little damage to the finish.

Interestingly--- if you DO have a composite floor i.e. Pergo, then a light use of the acetone would work. The finish is Formica-like and very durable to chemicals. Just wear rubber gloves, apply chemical to rag and rub..... did I mention the anti-chemical breathing mask? The house fan? Open windows? This stuff is dangerous and VERY flammable. But turpentine and pad would do the job.

Lotsa luck, and careful knees.
sand it off. restain the wood and bring back the original look. :-)
