How do I paint my rough concrete carport floor?

It dates back to 1960 and has oil stains and the like. Whats the best way to clean it, and how about painting it. I don't park in this carport and use it more like a patio. And once it's painted, do I seal it or should I do that before I paint?How do I paint my rough concrete carport floor?
If you have a power sprayer, that's a good start.





If you don't have one maybe borrow one from a friend, neighbor, family member, or you can rent them.





Power spray it with water, hold the sprayer just a few inches away from the concrete. Then, as the first person suggested, clean it with an acid based product, but please be careful, not only for yourself, but also for the environment.





Then let it dry, you should paint it first, and then seal it. It will keep the moisture out of the paint, preventing chipping, staining, etc...

The paint will wear away in a couple of years. its like deck's they need to be restained every couple of years. the paint will just come up because it really doesn't have anything to hold onto. I would just clean it with muriatic acid and call it a day. That stuff will eat you alive so be careful. Its the only thing that works.
You should first wash it with ( TSP ) Tri- sodium phosphate , then scrub it with muratic acid %26amp; a very stiff broom, re-rinse with ( TSP ), Let dry for a day %26amp; paint it with porch paint.


After paint dries apply a sealer. good to go.


P.S. you should add about a half cup of play sand to the paint %26amp; mix it very well , this will help give you traction when walking on it after rain or washing it down.

Clean it with muratic acid (be careful- read the label) and buy an epoxy paint made for concrete floors. You'll be good to go.
