How to paint floor molding?

We have very thick plush carpeting. How do I paint the floor molding without damaging the carpet? How to paint floor molding?
Use duct tape and push it under your molding. Tht should give you enough protection. If not, tape some plastic to the duct tape to help protect the carpet. Duct tape sticks to carpet better than masking tape and it's stronger so you can push it under (between the molding and the carpet).

BTW, I've been a professional painter for 20 yrs. and this is how we paint baseboards over carpet. How to paint floor molding?
use a pices of carboard or a scrapper to press down the carpet as you paint along the molding. be sure to check the bottom of the cardboard/ scrapper frequently to make sure the paint isn't getting by the edge.
get a large piece of cardboard or similar to hold down the carpet next to the trim - weight it down with something.
