We can't afford new carpet or flooring but must do something due to the dogs wetting all the time.Has anyone ever taken up their carpet and just painted the floor with porch paint to save money?
Clean, prime and paint. I would put a clear coat water based polyurethane for a topcoat to extend it life. AND let the dogs out.Has anyone ever taken up their carpet and just painted the floor with porch paint to save money?
Actually I have seen this done alot. Personally I love the look. You likely have cement under your carpet. Tear up the carpet.....sweep up the floor and use a roller to put a coat of poly on it. The way I have seen it people use a stain on the concrete, looks great. A walnut stain would be a darker stain and this is my fav, mix up the stain and use towels to put it all over the concrete, rubbing it in well...then put on another coat of poly! Good luck to you!!
I havent but I knew someone who did, it didnt look too bad. You may have to paint it frequently though if you have big dogs their claws will probably scratch it, my dog scratched their floor a little when I when to visit.
