i have a rented flat and i have lived here for 3 years...because we couldn't afford carpet or laminate flooring we decided to paint it, using a floor paint normally used in garages! silly i know, now...!
it is a brand new building and we are the original tenants...
i would like to strip it off and put something else down but my partner wants to paint over it....
it is a big job - i understand this..but i want to exchange and i really think that by doing this will give us a better chance of swapping
i don't intend to ask the housing association as it is my problem not theirs...
has anybody got any good advice for me, please?Which is the best way to strip floor paint off my standard chipboard floor!?
Impossible to strip chipboard. . . and by now, it should be really 'worn' in walk areas?
Your partner is correct - REPAINT, is the best/cheapest way to go. . . have you considered doing 'graphic' designs on the floor?
Wow - what an artist's canvas you have!!!!
Wanna invite me over to 'design' the patterns????
Cool ------Which is the best way to strip floor paint off my standard chipboard floor!?
You can buy laminate flooring quite cheap or paint over it.
I would consult this website:
www.thisoldhouse.com
I know it's PBS, and whatnot, but they've been doing things for a long time... check out some of the other PBS home-improvement stuff.
or, the DIY network...
Paint off of chipboard forget it buy new chipboard anything you use on it will destroy the glue that holds it together and you will have to replace it anyway. Are you sure it's chipboard. Or paint over it.
