Sorry to disagree with the other answers but I painted our linoleum floor at a clubhouse (it gets lots of traffic) four years ago with regular floor paint and it works just fine.
I Painted it a base coat of maroon and sponge painted over that with grey and white, I intended to put a clear laquer finsih on that but never got around to it and it still is holding up.Is there a floor paint that will cover linoleum?
Not that I know of. It would be better to remove all of the linoleum before you paint. It would look nicer too.Is there a floor paint that will cover linoleum?
You can try a melamine oil base paint. Prime the area first. There is no guarantee it will work, but it's worth a shot. Melamine is used on counter tops and hard to paint surfaces. Test in an area that is unseen, such as under a stove or firdge and see what happens. Colours in melamine paint are limited.
You certainly can paint linoleum. Sand down the high spots, use a high adhesive primer and paint away.
Sorry no it has to be taken up and replaced . The paint will never stick .
