this guy is partly right except if the wood floor has any wax or stains.
In my experience the was removers never get all the wax of.
I developed a technique where I keep a very sharp paint scraper handy to finely scrape areas where stubborn stains persist. You see sanding creates heat. Heat drives was and stains deeper into the wood.
I keep the paint scraper razor sharp with a fine papered portable
belt sander. This allows the scraper to take off layers of wood that are extremely thin. This solves the sanding/heta issue and is very easy to master.
After the floor is prepped, you can use either a large natural bristle brush or a compatible 'wienie' roller of the sponge type.
If a roller is used rool slowly and consistently.
Lastly, if you do not want a bunch of litttle debris in your finish, put fans on the floor as soon as the urethane is down. This will 'skin' the urethane with a dry skin so that after the floor is totally dry , you can simply wipe off any debris(and their will be debri) with a damp towel.
