How do you repaint hardwood floor paint with polyurethane.?

Are you repainting ';the existing paint'; with ';paint';,

over polyurethane already applied over the old paint?

NOT!

If you're applying polyurethane over ';old paint';, I don't think it's recommended. Old paint may be discolored or scarred in places, especially by Sun from windows.

If it's stained, same problem may exist. Wear and fade.

Make sure you do a light sanding in between coats or the poly will not stick evenly. Apply with a pad or roller, be sure the floor is immaculately clean. Apply additional coats, sanding and cleaning in between coats until you have the finish you like. How do you repaint hardwood floor paint with polyurethane.?
sand, first coat, fine steel wool, rinse, repeat. The more coats the better.
