How do you paint floor trim molding when the room has carpet?

I've taped along the molding with 2'; blue painters tape- onthe carpet, pressing down the edge, under the trim. Then I was going to use 2 foot trim guide and use a 2'; brush.How do you paint floor trim molding when the room has carpet?
I think you're on the right track with your own idea. Usually trim is up off the floor about 1/2 inch so you can slide that 2 ft guide over the carpet and under the trim to cover the carpet. Then take your time and paint.How do you paint floor trim molding when the room has carpet?
The only good way is to lay plastic or cloth drop cloth, use a guide if you are doing along the floor, and take your time. The only real secret to painting besides good paint and a good brush is taking your time and not rushing.
sounds good also get some plastic to lay down on the floor so you dont get paint on it. make sure you put painters tape above the molding on the wall just in case your hand slips or something
