Can you paint a plywood floor that is pressure treated?

I have been told that paint will not stick to a plywood floor that has been pressure treated,(not by a professional), can someone help me? I need to coat the floor with either stain or paint, is this possible? Can you paint a plywood floor that is pressure treated?
The pressure treatment puts a chemical into the wood that protects it from rotting and termite infestation. This chemical soaks in the wood and does not allow the paint to adhere as well as if it were on non-treated wood. If it were a freshly constructed floor I would think that paint would not stick well at all if there was heavy traffic. If the floor is older then some of the chemical treatment may have dispersed from the wood and it may be painted. I'm not sure if stained plywood is very aesthetically pleasing either. It depends on the grade of the plywood I guess. Can you paint a plywood floor that is pressure treated?
Sprinkle a few drops of water onto the plywood-----if it beads up the surface is not ready to accept any new finish-----if it soaks in then it's ready.

BTW I wouldn't use a floor sander on plywood---it'll go through a layer or two.
Prime and paint. Buy good stuff like Benjamin Moore, worth the two extra bucks.
yup you can..... our deck is pressure treated and we stain it..... it may have to be repeated every so often, but it is possible.... to paint , you need to get a good heavy floor sander.... and clean the floor with paint thinner or something of that nature..... then sweep and mop several times..... to get all the loose junk off..... then maybe it do the thinner again, let dry and then paint with a real good paint..... this process should also be done if you stain it, then you will not have to repeat so often..... God bless
Put a little Killz on it and you can paint almost anything. Is there a small remote area maybe in a closet where you can test it out first?
