i pulled up carpet from a bedroom and undernieth is wood with paint on it... it is old chipped paint that might had lead in it... so i would like to strip it... but the cheap way..What is a home remedey to stripping paint off a wood floor?
You might try using a paint stripper and a putty knife, if you have a lot of elbow grease.
Best way that I know is to rent a commercial floor sander, but you also need to wear a respirator and eye protection.
If you don't care about the finish on the wood and you are only concerned about lead, then I suggest that you buy a can of KILZ and paint over the area using KILZ. This will seal off the area and you can lay the carpet back over it.
